We’ve tried to be reasonable. We’ve promised “small dinners” and “light lunches.”
And yet, here we are again — four side dishes deep before the main dish is even decided.

Every family has that one person who brings extra “just in case.”
In our family, there are two of us.

How It Starts

One of us texts, “Let’s keep it simple.”

How it goes: three starches, two proteins, and enough leftovers to feed the neighbors.

Why We Do It

It’s that deep-rooted fear of running out of food — the ultimate family taboo.
Our uncle even lies about the guest count now. If there are 30 people coming, he tells us 10.
He still ends up with takeout containers.

The “Simple Dinner” Spiral

Large family dinner spread overflowing with homemade dishes and sides.
Our version of ‘simple’.

The Lesson (Sort Of)

We’ll never be minimalist cooks.
We’re fueled by love, laughter, and the sound of foil being crinkled over yet another full pan.

If you ever eat with us, come hungry — and bring containers.
Because for us, cooking too much isn’t chaos.

It’s care.

Welcome

Family, food, fun, and a little bit (okay, a LOT) of cousin chaos.

We’re Betty & Ethel. Cousins, partners in crime (the legal ones), and lifelong memory makers.

We cook, travel, decorate, laugh too loud, and somehow keep everyone else alive in the process.
