About Us

Ethel & Betty

Yes, this is a drawing from a real picture of us in Jamaica. Aren’t we adorable?

We’re cousins by blood, friends by choice, and lifelong partners in creative chaos. Just a year and a half apart in age, we’ve been side by side since childhood – dreaming, laughing, and turning ordinary moments into stories worth sharing.

We’ve always been makers and doers at heart. Our shared love for creativity started with floral design and event styling, and it still shows up in everything we do today from decorating and planning to cooking, traveling, and finding joy in the everyday.

Cousin Chaos is our cozy corner of the internet where we share the moments that make life feel full: the simple comforts, the family traditions, the “we really did that” stories, and the everyday beauty that comes from doing life together.

Around here, “chaos” just means there’s life happening – laughter, movement, conversation, and cousins being each other’s happy space.

Why “Betty” and “Ethel”?

“Betty & Ethel” is a name we have called ourselves for years.

Anytime we see two old women out living their best lives, laughing together, shopping slowly, sharing a meal, or simply enjoying the day, one of us always says,
“There go Betty and Ethel… that will be us.”

Eventually the names stuck. They became our playful reminder of who we are: two cousins who will be side by side for decades to come, still laughing, still talking too much, still creating and still enjoying life together.

So when it was time to bring our stories online, using “Betty & Ethel” gave us the perfect touch of privacy while staying true to who we have always been.

The laughter, the creativity, and the stories are all real.

Betty

Betty is mom to her awesome son and a proud baseball mom who’s happiest cheering from the stands or cooking up something comforting at home. She’s all about creating cozy spaces, sharing good food, and making everyone feel like family.

A born decorator with a heart for homemaking, Betty’s love for creativity has taken many forms over the years… from floral design to event planning.

Her mom used to lovingly called her “Suzy Homemaker,” and it still fits. Whether she’s hosting, crafting, or planning her next adventure, Betty’s joy is in making life feel a little more beautiful and connected.

Ethel

Ethel is married to her wonderful husband and has a heart as big as her love for home and family.

She has an eye for detail and a background in floral design that still shines through everything she touches. She’s known for rarely saying no, always showing up, and making sure everyone is taken care of — especially her “Pooh,” Betty’s son, who holds a special place in her heart.

Whether she’s dreaming of the next outing, hosting family, or adding a little extra sparkle to an ordinary day, Ethel does it all with warmth and heart.
